Therapeutic Conversation. Built by the Professionals.

Watershed is an AI emotional support tool built from the real clinical knowledge and experience of licensed mental health practitioners. It's constantly being updated with the current practices and strategies of practicing therapists.

Every response is shaped by clinicians who are in the room with real clients every week, people who understand what it actually means to sit with someone.

It is not a therapist. It will tell you that. But a lot of people are using AI for help and a lot of therapists want to meet you where you are.

What makes it different
01
Actually built by therapists
Not advised by therapists. Not "trained by psychologists." Built and continuously refined by licensed clinicians who are actively practicing.
02
Listens before it talks
Watershed is designed to hear you first. It doesn't jump to solutions. It doesn't hand you a list of coping strategies. It follows your lead.
03
Honest about its limits
Watershed cannot replace a clinician. It will tell you that clearly and often. When you need a real person, it will help you find one.

Ready when you are.

The story behind Watershed

I'm a practicing therapist. I noticed something that bothered me. So I built something.

Gabriel Kelley, LCSW

More and more of my clients are using AI between sessions. Sometimes it helps them. Sometimes it makes things significantly worse, because it doesn't know what it's doing clinically. It just sounds like it does.

So I started looking into what was actually out there. And here's what I found: there are platforms that mention a PhD on their website. There are some that say their AI is "trained by psychologists." But I couldn't find a single one actually built and operated by practicing therapists, people who are in the room with real clients every week.

Therapists are expensive, hard to find, and only available 50 minutes at a time. That gap is real and it affects people who are already struggling. And in that gap, people are turning to whatever is available.

We are all going to use these tools. That's just reality. The question is whether those tools are built by people who actually understand what they're doing, or by technologists who see mental health as a market.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work in an Intensive Outpatient Program that serves my local community and a local residential recovery program in western Massachusetts. I built Watershed from the clinical knowledge and experience of practicing therapists across different specialties and perspectives, grounded in actual frameworks, designed to listen before it says anything.

It's not a therapist. It tells you that. But it's the most clinically honest version of this that I know how to build, and I'm building it with other clinicians who care about the same things I do.

For Licensed Clinicians

Your clinical knowledge is valuable. It should be treated that way.

Watershed is built by practicing therapists and we want to keep it that way. Contribute your clinical voice and get paid every time it's used.

What you contribute

Your clinical philosophy, in your own words

Watershed's knowledge base is built from the de-identified clinical experience and philosophical frameworks of licensed practitioners. When you contribute, you complete a detailed clinical philosophy form covering your orientation, your approach, and your hard-won perspective. That material shapes how Watershed responds to real people in real moments.

What you earn

You get paid. Every time your insight is used.

Every time your clinical material is used in a response, you get paid. Not a one-time honorarium. Not exposure. A per-retrieval payment tied directly to how relevant and useful your clinical thinking is. The better your contributions, the higher they rank. The more clients on the platform, the more your contributions earn.

At 1,000 active clients, if your content ranks first in even 10% of sessions, that's roughly 100 retrievals per day at $0.003 each, around $270 a month. That number grows with the platform.

Retrieval payout structure
Rank 1
$0.003
per retrieval, highest relevance score
Rank 2
$0.002
per retrieval
Rank 3
$0.001

Our clients are going to use these tools whether we want them to or not.

The question is whether the tools they turn to carry any real clinical weight. We think they should. And we think the clinicians behind them should be compensated for their insight, perspective, and education.

Complete the clinician interest form. We review every submission and verify licensure before onboarding. If it's a fit, we'll be in touch.
